Huayuan G1 Series AC Inverter for CNC Machine Tools

Overview: This article is based on the working principle of CNC machine tools and technical requirements to introduce the application of Huayuan G1 series inverter to CNC machine tools. With low frequency, large torque, high steady speed precision, rapid dynamic response, high performance of acceleration and deceleration, Huayuan G1 series inverter can better meet the requirements of CNC machine tools.

Working Principle

CNC lathe is a typical product of mechatronics, an automated equipment that integrates machine tools, computers, motors and their drives, automatic control and detection.

The spindle motor transmits power to the spindle headstock through a pulley. The spindle is equipped with a chuck for fixing the workpiece, and the workpiece is clamped on the chuck. The spindle rotates at a certain speed according to the machining process of the current workpiece, and the tool feeds (moves along the X-axis and Z-axis) according to the process requirements to realize the cutting of the workpiece.

(1) Wide speed regulation range: 0 ~ 150 Hz;

(2) Stable rotational speed with small speed fluctuation under uneven load;

(3) Short acceleration and deceleration time: 0.5 ~ 3 s;

(4) Large low-frequency torque to meet rough machining requirements;

System Solution

This solution adopts the G1 series vector-type general-purpose inverter to drive the lathe spindle motor, adopting the open-loop vector control mode. The frequency is set by analog quantity (0 ~ 10V), with start/stop via external terminals and fault signal output. To achieve faster deceleration and shutdown, the inverter needs to be configured with a braking resistor of appropriate size.

(1) Large low-frequency torque, capable of outputting 150% torque for cutting at 0.5Hz;

(2) Good linearity of speed setting and high speed stability accuracy, with small speed fluctuation when the load changes;
